What’s in your signature?
Are you missing a simple chance to pitch your company? Marketing is all about exposure. Expose yourself everywhere. [ Should have said expose your company everywhere :) ]
I see many people and the companies they work for missing a simple opportunity to market themselves everyday. How many email communications do you send everyday to customers, colleagues, etc? If you are like most busy businesses, you are sending hundreds.
Is your company slogan part of every email signature that goes out? Your company mission statement? Your 20 second elevator speech? Links to your newest product?
All you have to do to effectively market in your email, is have a tag line added to your email signature or your v-card:
Best regards,
Your name
Your Title
Your Company
*Your Best Marketing Line*
Phone Number, etc, etc
Since most people today uses HTML based email you can also prepare a nice graphic to go after your signature area that has your company logo with a marketing line underneath that links back to a specific page on your website. Have your webmaster prepare a simple animated gif that changes and advertises your newest product launch and links back to the page about it.
Try different types of “ad signatures” and use a traffic script like Google Analytics to see which one pulls the most traffic. You might want to then use the “ad” in something more formal if it’s working good in your emails.
Email marketing is one of the cheapest and one of the most effective ways to market your business. Why not take advantage of the hundreds (thousands?) of emails your company sends everyday?
